CompTIA CDIA+ certification is the leading vendor-neutral certification for people wanting a starting point for a career in document imaging and management. This certification provides evidence of competence in technologies and best practices used to plan, design, and specify a document imaging management system
Certification Requirements
Only one exam is necessary to be certified: exam code 225-030.
CompTIA recommends 12 to 18 months on the job experience.

- Exam Format: Computer Based Test
- Exam codes: 225-030
- Time: 90 minutes each exam (30 minute extension for non-native English speakers
- Number of Questions: 85
- Passing Score: 700 (scale 100-900)
- Availability: All year.
Effective January 1, 2011, all new CompTIA A+, CompTIA Network+ and CompTIA Security+ certifications will be valid for three years from the date the candidate is certified. To continue to use these professional designations you will need to re-certify. This is all part of the CompTIA Continuing Education Program. Currently CDIA+ is not part of this program but this may, in time, change.

Use the free A+ study guides and tests as a way to get started. For some people this may be all you need but for others more detailed study will help you get the best results. Try out several different free online resources to see which, if any, suite your study style.
Real world experience is a definite asset before taking Comptia A+ exam. If you are fortunate enough to be working with computers they recommend x months experience. If you don’t have this benefit consider taking a hands on course or building a portfolio of computers to work on. At today’s computer prices this may be a cheaper option than a study class. You will also have the basis of a computer network for Network+ and other CompTIA exams.
When finished with try advertising on Kijiji or similar website, there’s almost certainly someone else out there with the same need.
